If you want a perfect description of Chris Brown’s life, I couldn’t think of a better one than the tagline for the upcoming documentary about his life: “He went from being America’s sweetheart to Public Enemy Number One.” The new documentary looks set to twist Brown’s 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend and pop superstar Rihanna into a sob story that makes Brown the victim of his own domestic abuse.
During the documentary, Brown talks about his violent attack: “I felt like a f*cking monster. I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high.” Brown’s mum, Joyce Hawkins, also speaks about the assault: “That was the worst day of my life and probably his life. I felt like I was going to lose my child.” Brown was sentenced to five years of probation following the attack.
Just three years later, Brown was spotted with a tattoo that looked suspiciously like a beaten woman who bears a strong resemblance to Rihanna. Brown, of course, denied any similarities, stating: “It’s a random woman.”
