However, although industry experts were pretty shocked by its success, I wasn’t. Ryan Reynolds in spandex? Of course it was going to be a colossal hit.
Is the super-sweary smasher going to irrevocably change the way superhero movies are planned and made in the future? Most probably. Yet this may never have been the case if a certain studio note, which requested that the film take an alternative path, had been given the green light….
