The Costa Concordia was a luxury cruise liner that sank off the coast of Italy on Friday, January 13 2012. A total of 32 people were killed when the Costa Concordia hit rocks and listed, trapping people inside. The incident is officially Italy’s worst maritime disaster since WWII.

The Concordia started to be towed to land in July 2015, in a complex €100m scrap operation which is expected to last nearly two years. Now a series of never-seen-before photos of the wreck have been taken, providing us with shocking insight to exactly how much damage was caused when the ship hit the rocks that fateful day.
