Some of the toys that we used to play with as kids are now worth an absolute fortune. Unfortunately for me, I threw all of my 90’s classic toys away. However, my Gran bought me a 1970’s Disney toy for £12 from a car boot sale, that I kept for some reason. Last year I googled it and discovered it was worth a cool $400. I’ll be keeping it safely wrapped away in my loft. I can’t wait to see what it will be worth in 20 years’ time.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing and it would seem that there are a lot of people out there who are desperate to own a little piece of their childhood. Here are 10 toys that are now incredibly valuable. Have you held on to yours?
1. VHS tapes
Although these dinosaurs from that past are now completely useless in a world of Netflix and downloads, some people out there are becoming avid collectors of video tapes. Some of them are now worth a small fortune. If you want to pick up a copy of Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks, it’ll cost you $2,100.
2. Super Soaker
As soon a temperatures rose above 20 degrees celsius the first thing I would reach for would be my Super Soaker. If I’d kept hold of it, it would now be worth an amazing $175. Not bad for a piece of plastic.
3. Your Old Game Boy
If you have an original one of these bad boys, I have some good news for you. Your sitting on a small fortune. The going rate is now just below $2,000. Staggering.
4. Your Old Cereal Boxes
I thought this was a joke when I first heard about it. But after doing some research, I can confirm that old Kellogg’s boxes are now worth an eye-watering $450. WTF?
