Shortly before the release of his newest album, The Life Of Pablo, Kayne West announced that it would only be available on his pal Jay Z’s streaming service Tidal. But now Kanye is being sued for allegedly tricking fans into signing up for the service, because it turns out that The Life Of Pablo is actually available pretty much everywhere. It’s on iTunes, rival streaming service Spotify, Google Play and even his own personal website. Oh dear Kanye, sounds like you might be in some hot water.
Back in February the rapper tweeted: “My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal.”
Now a class action lawsuit filed by fan Justin Baker-Rhett claims Kayne’s announcement about the album’s Tidal exclusivity caused subscriptions to go through the roof, which resulted in saving the failing service from financial disaster.
