When we think of scientists we think of boffins who always have the answer to everything, no matter how difficult the question. Despite what we average Joes might think, there are some things even the cleverest of scientists are yet to figure out.
Things like the odd experiment described on the next page, which asks why hot water and cold water react differently when placed in a pipette and tilted upwards. The scientific community is yet to give an explanation for the phenomenon and I’m personally stumped.
The video, filmed in Australia for the YouTube channel Make Science Fun, shows science teacher Jacob Strickling trying to work out why only hot water squirts out of a pipette when it’s turned upwards, but cold water doesn’t do anything.
