Meeting your childhood sporting hero should be an amazing and truly humbling experience for any dedicated fan, but for one young man it all turned horribly sour. Bodybuilding enthusiast Jason Genova managed to meet his idol Rich Piana at a Europa Games event in Orlando last week, only to find out that his hero was far from the man he expected him to be.
The bizarre exchange started cordially enough, but descended into an exhibition of bullying, with self-confessed steroid user Piana repeatedly hitting Genova, who has a mental disability.
So what was the reason for Piana’s outrageous behaviour? Well it seems that the bodybuilder suspected super fan Genova of sabotaging his social media accounts. During the awkward conversation, the former Mr California calls the youngster out over an “Order 66” – an obscure reference to a Star Wars film.
For those of you who don’t know much about the Star Wars franchise, the “Order 66” occurs in the 2005 prequel Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, when cloned soldiers turn against their Jedi commanders and terminate them. Genova admits delivering an “Order 66” on Piana to his online followers, who then went out and caused chaos across Piana’s social media accounts.
Flick over to the next page to see the incident in full. At least then you can make your own minds up about whether Piana went too far.
