It’s not often that we laud the loser of a fight in sport, but you can’t help but applaud Amir Khan’s business acumen. Knocked out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez the other night, the middleweight star was put onto the canvas in pretty emphatic fashion. Some people make money trading, but some just need to take a few hammer blows to the face.
Defeat usually means a dejected fighter with dwindling career prospects, but we’re happy to report that Khan is quids-in after his schooling from Alvarez (no need for him to hit up any money investing websites). Khan sent out this tweet in the aftermath of the fight, which shows that his spirits were most definitely up.
Im okay everyone 😃 thats boxing for you, congrats to @Canelo monster punch, much love to all the fans! #CaneloKhan http://pic.twitter.com/oQcqZQrsLl

So how much money did Khan take with him in his training bag? To give you an idea of the sums we are talking about, here is a little comparison. Khan’s windfall is greater than any British boxer since David Haye’s 2011 defeat against Wladimir Klitschko. In short, the Bolton-born fighter took home some serious money.
