Former UFC Fighter Kimbo Slice Dies Suddenly, Aged 42

Popular MMA fighter and Bellator heavyweight has sadly passed away at the young age of 42.

Kevin ‘Kimbo Slice’ Ferguson died on Monday 6th June, Bellator MMA announced. Releasing this statement:

We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family,” Bellator president Scott Coker said in a statement, calling Slice “a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.”

“Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man,” Coker said. “His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans, and teammates.”

There is currently no word on the cause of his death.

Slice had been hospitalised earlier on Monday for undisclosed reasons near his home in South Florida. Coral Springs police have said that no foul play was suspected.

The 6-foot-2 former backyard brawler and internet sensation had a 5-2 professional record, boasting four TKOs.

RIP Kimbo Slice.
