As sad as it is for me to say, it seems Barack Obama’s time as US president is coming to an end. After years patrolling the corridors of the White House, the commander-in-chief will soon need to relocate to a new abode. Moving house is always stressful, but thankfully the Obamas don’t have much to worry about on that front. Opting to stay in Washington after Obama’s tenure as president ends, the family have found a new home.
Part of the reason the Obamas are staying in Washington is so their youngest daughter, Sasha, can finish school. The first-family will be leasing an 8,200-square-foot mansion in the Kalorama neighbourhood of D.C. Not a bad change after the White House eh?
Just to give you an idea of how impressive this place is, here are some details. The nine-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bath home was built in 1928 and last sold for $5.3 million in May 2014. These days it’s valued at around $6.3 million.
